How many surprises does Tom Cruise have on deck for the May 27th release of TOP GUN: MAVERICK? Okay, that was a rhetorical question. The answer is wow, a lot written down in his flight log for this week’s “Global Premiere” that included landing a franchise logo-emblazoned chopper he flew himself. Cruise piloted the whirly bird and touched down before a cast and crew extravaganza in San Diego a couple days ago on Weds. May 4, with the Nimitz-class Naval aircraft carrier the USS Carl Vinson as a featured attraction. Now Lady Gaga enlists her talents for this movie, but more on that in a sec.
It makes sense that Tom Cruise would go all-out for TGM, a sequel quite literally 36 years in the planning.
Now it’s Lady Gaga’s video and tune, as mentioned, for the movie that hit the public today.
This stylishly understated video is for the single “Hold My Hand” from TOP GUN: MAVERICK directed by Joe Kosinski.
Without further hype, it is about as outsized and typically sensational as you would imagine.

In case you forgot the general plot, Paramount Pictures’ Top Gun: Maverick revisits Pete “Maverick” Mitchell (Tom Cruise) and his checkered military career 30 years on. Now TOPGUN graduates have to report to him for a special mission that will push the extreme limits of their skills.
In the new installment, Maverick bumps against Lt. Bradley Bradshaw (Miles Teller), known as call sign: “Rooster.” Naturally this is the son of his beloved deceased co-pilot – Meg Ryan’s husband in the first film – Radar Intercept Officer Lt. Nick Bradshaw, who was known as call sign “Goose.”
Rooster is the polar opposite of his charming and beloved father, so Maverick faces some heavy soul searching during his high-flying sorties. And so the intergenerational saga in the air begins…
