Not only does the man look and sound like Hollywood forefather Robert Redford, now Brad Pitt will actually tell you things you didn’t know about the wild robber-romp from The Greatest Screenwriter William Goldman, that launched Redford when Paul Newman laid down the law about casting.

BUTCH CASSIDY AND THE SUNDANCE KID has so many mind-imprinting moments, from the gorgeous Katharine Ross on the bicycle scene to Paul using his brains to get out of a knife fight.  So, is this exciting or what?  If you aren’t familiar with Goldman’s eye-piercing dialogue or his cliff scene whereby Bob takes a leap, wait till Bob 2.0 gets into in his way.  Please don’t drool on your handheld, tablet, or remote as you watch the one and only rags to bitches (had to) Oscar-winner Brad Pitt.

Here’s Brad on Bob (aka Mr. Sundance Film Fest) and the late Mr. Blue Eyes with the organic food companies when Legends were spelled with a capital “L.”

WHAT:  Brad Pitt announces today’s AFI Movie Club selection: BUTCH CASSIDY AND THE SUNDANCE KID. Starring Paul Newman and Robert Redford as the infamous outlaws, the film appears on AFI’s original and 10th anniversary lists of the greatest American films – and the dynamic duo of Butch and Sundance were co-ranked #20 among AFI’s greatest screen heroes!

DID YOU KNOW? The real Butch Cassidy never used violence or firearms until he moved to Bolivia in the last days of his life. William Goldman, who won an Oscar® for writing the film, said that this paradox in Cassidy’s character was his primary motivator in developing the story for film. View this exclusive AFI Archive video of Goldman talking about writing the film.
