Thank the pandemic for opening up the Sundance Institute’s filmmaking factory mentors and masterclasses, with one available 9/23 for example. There’s a link below to register for a free virtual interactive discussion with Mike Plante, a senior programmer at the Utah-based non-profit.
Robert Redford took over the then-American Film Fest in the 1980’s, and rebranded that fest as the Sundance Institute. By his side, Michelle Satter has been the director of Sundance Institute’s Feature Film Program since the Institute was founded in 1981. Since then, their contribution to the future of creative artists and the creative cinematic arts has been legendary.
Not just an annual film festival, “Bob” transformed this gathering into a teach-in and an “organization that discovers and supports independent film, media, and theater artists from the US and around the world, and introduced audiences to their new work.”
Here’s an invite for Sept. 23 from Michelle Satter & the Collab Gang
A successful filmmaking career isn’t limited to LA or New York. Join Sundance Institute senior programmer Mike Plante on September 23 at 3:00 p.m. PDT for a free virtual conversation on regional filmmaking with Utah-based writer/director Robert Machoian (The Minors, The Killing of Two Lovers). Learn about developing a network, utilizing local resources, and financing on a micro-budget—and join a Q&A with Michoian followed by a virtual networking session.
Sign up here. Start learning, then start filming your story. TY Sundance.
