For what it’s worth, while RUNNING TO THE SKY from Kyrgyzstan might not have superheroes or heavy VFX so crucial in today’s big tentpoles, there’s a beauty to this film that speaks to the essence of being human.

Directed by Mirlan Abdykalykov and originally titled JO KULUK, RUNNING TO THE SKY will have a showing at the Busan Film Festival coming up Oct. 3 – 12.
This film is so fresh and ‘au naturel’ it is a spiritual experience, or at least a palette cleanser from everyday cinematic fast-flash fare.
And it features a chicken (okay, rooster) in a major role, just saying.

Okay, that sounds very woo-woo, but watch the trailer and see if you feel it too… (You may be redirected to Vimeo, but you’ll get to see it with a little patience, as it is still being editied.)
