Some FIRST DATE, car plus loot plus killer kismet, June 23

Who doesn’t like a good bad rendezvous? FIRST DATE, from filmmakers Manuel Crosby and Darren Knapp stars Tyson Brown, Shelby Duclos and Jesse Janzen in a dangerous liaison where cops and criminals play for the same team… almost.

Watch for this bumpy upbeat who-stole-it romp from Magnolia Pictures.

Shelby probably wants to turn the clock back on this killer kismet hook-up.

The plot goes like this, hold your breath: Conned into buying a shady ‘65 Chrysler, shy teen Mike’s (Tyson Brown) eagerly-anticipated first date with the girl-next-door, Kelsey (Shelby Duclos), implodes as he finds himself targeted by criminals, cops, and a crazy cat lady. A night fueled by desire, bullets and burning rubber makes any other first date seem like a walk in the park.

Writing and directing partners Manuel Crosby and Darren Knapp’s rollicking mix-up also stars Nicole Berry, Samuel Ademola, Ryan Quinn Adams, Angela Barber, Dave Reimer, Jake Howard, Samantha Laurenti, Scott Noble, Leah Finity, Josh Fesler, and Brandon Kraus.
