Remember Scarlett Johansson was HER (2013) in the Joaquin Phoenix nerd-love starrer written by director Spike Jonze? Well this is not HER, but JEXI, directed by BAD MOMS team pals Jon Lucas and Scott Moore, from CBS Films and Entertainment One. The release date is set for October.
JEXI is the automaton phone chick that goes rogue and digital-stalks cell owner Adam Devine. That’s the short version, the long version from the official sources follows the clip below. Meanwhile, it has a great cast, indicated by Wanda Skyes, and Adam Devine, Alexandra Shipp, Ron Funches, Charlyne Yi, Justin Hartley, Kid Cudi, Michael Peña, plus the always fantastic Rose Byrne. Voyeurs power-up your devices for this one. You’re Welcome. PS Scott and Jon are powered by the writers of THE HANGOVER, so hang on tight.
What CBS & Entertainment One Have to Say About JEXI
From the writers of The Hangover and the writing/directing team behind Bad Moms comes the new comedy JEXI.
Phil (Adam Devine) has a major dependency issue – he’s addicted to his phone. He has no friends, he has a job writing pop culture “Top 10” lists, and his love life is non-existent. But his Facebook status is about to change. When he is forced to upgrade his phone, the latest model comes with an unexpected feature…Jexi (Rose Byrne) – an A.I. life coach, virtual assistant and cheerleader. With her help, Phil begins to get a real life. But as he becomes less dependent on his phone, Jexi’s artificial intelligence morphs into a tech nightmare determined to keep Phil all to herself, even if it means ruining his chances of finding success.
