ODYSSEY Casting Call & Top 10 Kismet Co-Stars

Last night on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon,” Zendaya just recounted how Tom Holland got the call for The Odyssey casting. Naturally it came from director Christopher Nolan himself. “I’m also a Chris Nolan fan,” she said, and “didn’t even put myself in that equation at all, I mean we already won,” with husband Tom Holland’s locked role as son of Odysseus. But then “peeky, peek, I looked” at the pages,” the newly wed to Holland, admits. “Hey, there’s a Christopher Nolan script in my house!”

Yes, this is another shallow dive into The Odyssey media wake here. But the fact that Holland came home from this initial meeting with Nolan to tell Zendaya she also got a part, is kind of sweet. Tom told her: “Read this again,” meaning his script she snuck a glimpse at, “but with one scene in mind.”

Zendaya recalls, “he got to be the one to tell me.” After she also landed a role in the screen-made Homeric epic from Warner Bros, her feelings about the Director didn’t end there.  “I’m a super-fan,” specifically of Interstellar.” But the Emmy-nominated “Euphoria” actor also added she loves “what (Christopher Nolan) represents in our industry,” which is the high art of film-making. Yet, where would we be without our fandom communities, popcorn movie idols, and kismet co-stars from movie sets?

Granted Zendaya and Holland met on an earlier film, but this couple’s meet-cute is just one example of off-screen romance. Or under the Call Sheets, shall we say? Which is a perfect segue into our Top 10 Kismet Co-Stars list.

It is said to have been a secret ceremony, sometime in June 2026. Oh, to be a fly on the wall, uh, Spider Man joke alert.
