LOS ANGELES, CA: In a competitive situation, Saban Films is closing on North American distribution rights to Dennis Dugan’s (Just Go with ItHappy GilmoreLove, Weddings & Other Disasters.  The romantic comedy stars Academy Award® winner Diane Keaton (Book Club, Something’s Gotta Give), Academy Award® winner Jeremy Irons (Justice League), Maggie Grace (Taken franchise, “Fear the Walking Dead”), Jesse McCartney (Alvin and the Chipmunks franchise, “Young Justice”), Chandra West (I Now Pronounce You Chuck & LarryWhite Noise), Diego Boneta (“Luis Miguel: The Series”, Terminator: Dark Fate), Andrew Bachelor (To All the Boys I’ve Loved BeforeWhen We First Met) and Veronica Ferres (Salt and Fire).  Dugan, who penned the script, also served as a producer along with Align’s Adrian Politowski and Martin Metz, and Fortitude International’s Nadine de Barros.

Love, Weddings & Other Disasters is a multi-story romantic comedy about the people who work on weddings to create the perfect day for a loving couple – while their own relationships are outlandish, odd, crazy and far from perfect.

“Dennis Dugan is one of the most successful comedy directors of our time and we have been huge fans of his work,” commented Saban Films’ Bill Bromiley. “We knew we had to be a part of the newest addition to his collection. From box office successes and modern classics such as Big Daddy and Happy Gilmore to more recent releases such as Grown Ups, Dennis has always been a leading force.”

Bill Bromiley and Jonathan Saba negotiated the deal for Saban Films along with The Gersh Agency and Endeavor Content on behalf of the filmmakers.  Executive Producer is SquareOne Entertainment’s Al Munteanu.  Fortitude International is handling foreign rights.

Love, Weddings & Other Disasters will be released by Saban Films, with plans to be announced at a later date.

Saban Films continues to grow its presence in the industry, remaining active in the acquisition, production and distribution space. The company’s successes have run the gamut from critically acclaimed theatrical films such as The Homesman starring Hilary Swank, to two of the biggest Fathom events with horror icon and heavy metal mastermind Rob Zombie’s 3 From Hell last year and Kevin Smith’s Jay and Silent Bob Reboot, the sequel to the 2001 comedy Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back which the company partnered on after coming onboard at script stage.

Its upcoming slate includes: Daniel Roby’s crime-thriller Most Wanted starring Antoine Olivier Pilon with Jim Gaffigan and Josh Hartnett; the Alicia Silverstone wedding comedy Sister of the Groom; Alex McAulay’s thriller Don’t Tell a Soul starring Jack Dylan Grazer, Fionn Whitehead, Mena Suvari and Emmy Award® nominated Rainn Wilson; Robin Pront’s crime thriller The Silencing starring Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Annabelle Wallis and Hero Fiennes Tiffin; Nicol Paone’s Friendsgiving with Malin Akerman, Christine Taylor, Jane Seymour, Kat Dennings and Chelsea Peretti; John Suits’ Breach starring Bruce Willis; and Twist starring Michael Caine, Lena Headey and Rita Ora.
