Uhm, you listen to ultr4-g33k Jim Yelton and his podcast right? #Lockdown in SoCal and all over the world has made people do weird things. If your inner g33k has surfaced during this Pandemic/Pandemonium, Jim Yelton is your go-to pro. Here’s a Jonathan Frakes interview, offered in loving memory of my Next Generation super-fan relative who passed away last month – who only watched Next Gen, but not Deep Space Nine nor the original 60’s series – those fans are so specific! That said, did you know there are people who enact Star Trek episodes live, in person in costume, called Cosplay, and not as a parody? Podcast host and icon Yelton can fill you in on that.

Sidebar: my ideal Captain Kirk casting? Glad you asked. It would be comedian Jim Gaffigan (just out with “The Pale Tourist”) in a way-too-tight Kirk outfit, with Amy Schumer as his very own femme-ballsy “Janice Rand.” Spock would be Owen Wilson in a black wig with his same sentence parsing used in every performance… Forgive the subversive fantasy casting digression.;)

Just in case you want to geek-out beyond Yelton, Frakes, and legit Star Trek g33kd0m, there’s an event coming up Aug. 1, that is a “red carpet premiere” and fan convention online for some crazy parody called UNBELIEVABLE!!! with three, sorry five, exclamation points for real.

LOS ANGELES, CA: Producer Angelique Fawcette announced the new details today for the Virtual Online “Stay At Home” Red Carpet Premiere screening and LIVE Virtual Convention of the sci-fi parody adventure UNBELIEVABLE!!!!! The film features Snoop Dogg, Robert Davi, Michael Madsen, Gilbert Gottfried, Katarina Van Derham, McKenzie Westmore and over 40 former “Star Trek” stars, such as Chase Masterson, Garrett Wang, Nichelle Nichols, Marina Sirtis, Michael Dorn, Robert Picardo and Nana Visitor. The online premiere screening of the film and the live Virtual Convention will be a worldwide event on Saturday, August 1, 2020 starting at 12:00pm Pacific Daylight Time (PDT). 

This event is presented by and with the domestic distributor and foreign sales agent of the UNBELIEVABLE!!!!!, Indie Rights, and Archangel Films LA, the production company of husband and wife filmmaking team producer Angelique Fawcette and writer/director Steven L. Fawcette. The Premium TVoD and On Demand release date of UNBELIEVABLE!!!!! will be announced during the live event by the Fawcettes, who also executive produced UNBELIEVABLE!!!!!
