PGA, DGA, and finally WGA: Let’s get Award Season sorted out for 2022

Read Time:15 Minute, 43 Second

by Screenmancer Staff

Call it an embarrassment of riches, or a chance to jumble hundreds of nominee names and studios in a huge crush of announcements today from the Producers Guild, the Directors Guild, and the Writers Guild all at once in Hollywood right now. Sorting machines needed, but human hands on this one as we sort out the nominees from the Guilds, which are often thought to be indicators of the Oscar race.

Corrections may be needed, (let’s hope not), but let’s lay out the rolling contenders from 2021 for 2022.

Odds on favorites like Jane Campion’s THE POWER OF THE DOG and Paul Thomas Anderson’s LICORICE PIZZA had cross-guild showings as did the usual suspects: from Steven Spielberg, and his WEST SIDE STORY to Kenneth Branagh’s BELFAST.

Wade through the surprises for yourself, and yes, the WGA is last here as ALL of their entries are included.
