This isn’t a Cheryl Strayed journey, but David Cross as Dr. Robert Pyle, a blocked nature writer, in THE DARK DIVIDE is also straying off the grid in a wandering escape-cancer sojourn.
Based on a true adventure, there are wild animals in this endearing movie. As in? “The only dangerous animals I’ve run into are your men.” Debra Messing is the muse and the loved one in this.
Here’s a deleted scene for grins, because it’s a campfire tale in the traditional style.
Yes, this nixed yarn is a Big Foot moment…
Didn’t Make THE DARK SIDE Final Cut But Great Storytelling
This is the official word from Strike Back Studios
The Dark Divide is based on the true story of renowned butterfly expert Dr. Robert Pyle’s (David Cross) perilous 1995 journey across one of America’s largest undeveloped wildlands. At the urging of his dying wife Thea (Debra Messing ), the shy author finds himself in over his head on an epic, life-changing expedition through Washington’s Gifford Pinchot National Forest in search of new species of butterflies.
