UPDATED: Screenmancer was among the contest entrants of the Shift4Shop Inspiration4 competition, and won some swag, though no a seat on the flight. We were honored to be among those invited to the VIP Launch Party.

Here’s a daily recap from the Inspiration4 Crew

The crew of Inspiration4 Jared Isaacman, Hayley Arceneaux, Sian Proctor, and Chris Sembroski, had an incredible first day in space! They completed 15 orbits around planet Earth and made full use of the Dragon cupola observation dome – the largest contiguous space window ever flown.

DAY ONE

Rook, Nova, Hanks, and Leo placed a few on-orbit phone calls to their families and some special guests, including the amazing patients of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. The crew fielded questions from patients and gave them a look into their life on Dragon.

Also, in case you missed it during the live launch webcast, shortly after reaching orbit the crew revealed their zero-G indicator – a dog plush inspired by St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital specially trained facility dogs – which sold out within an hour!

DAY TWO

Inspiration4 day two is complete! Today, the world had a chance to see a number of updates from the crew both live and recorded from space. The crew shared a live inflight update that reflected their enthusiasm and excitement over being in space. We also shared the recorded interview with patients of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital® that included some great puns and jokes the world loved. They also had a chance to ring the closing bell of the New York Stock Exchange on September 17, and shared some of the fresh food enjoyed during the mission.

As they prepare to return to Earth, the Dragon spacecraft completed two burns tonight to reduce its altitude to approximately 365km and line up the ground track with the landing site.

The crew will be back tonight at 7:06 p.m. with a splashdown in the Atlantic Ocean off the coast and we’ll be sharing more updates on what should be a spectacular return.

You can follow the Inspiration4 flight return on spacex.com. Visit launch partner Shift4Shop too.

Stay tuned for the Dragon’s return here. Ad Astra! Congratulations.
