“Every town is built on bad decisions,” says a Townie in Joe Raffa’s new film DOWNEAST. And what better way to kick off Summer than with a lobsta-mobsta epic whereby Lobstermen and Made Men meet at the intersection of “no you didn’t” and Cosa Nostra? Get your bay leaves, bibs, and claw crackers ready on July 13 for this Gravitas Ventures and APS Films revenge-driven Homarus americanus mafia movie. Joe Raffa’s DOWNEAST stars Greg Finley (“The Secret Life of the American Teenager”), and his script is based on a story by Maine native Finley.

Not even kidding, a real Mobsta-Lobsta movie

DOWNEAST gives Stephen King’s home turf a run for the gory money when Maine-iac Emma Maddox (Dylan Silver) comes back to her hometown to dig into the suspicious cold-case death of her brother “Mikey.” As she hooks up with his best friend Tommy, the two manage to embroil themselves in a melted bitter fiasco involving the mob and lobster pots.

Yeah, you’re really seeing it, Homarus americanus & “H” in a movie.

Go fish for this film on iTunes, Amazon Video, Vudu, Comcast, Spectrum, and Cox.

Cast includes Judson Mills, Gareth Williams, and Kirk Fox. Produced by APS Films and directed by Joe Raffa, Greg Finley produced DOWNEAST alongside Cory Pyke.  Edwin Pendleton Stevens served as executive producer.

No lobsters were harmed in the making of this movie, but who can say about the mobsters?
